miniature airport 2012-04-11
The miniature effect of these images is due to their shallow depth of field. In that case the effect was created using digital image manipulation program GIMP. It mimics the look which can be created with a tilt-shift-lens (tilting the focus plane), thus this style can be reffered as "fake ts".
Berlin Tegel Airport will be closed when the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BBI) opens on 3rd June, 2012. It was the busiest one among Berlin's former airports then.

Leucojum vernum in flower in Eselsburg valley 2012-03-15
Eselsburg valley (Eselsburger Tal, approx. 120 km car drive from my home) is besides its geology famous for the blossom of Spring Snowflake (Leucojum vernum). In some areas the forest ground is densely covered with the white flowers.
The Brenz river flows through the valley:
