The yellow stamens just appeared from the catkins, while some catkins still are completely silver.
The overcast sky on that day (see the airplane pictures taken on the same day to get a better impression of the light conditions) was perfectly suitable to capture the flowering willow. With bright sunshine, contrasts would have been to strong and the catkins wouldn´t stand out that well from their surrounding.
